Loco Translate plugin<\/h3>\n

There are many ways for translating themes and plugins. We recommend translating WordPress themes and plugins with Loco Translate<\/strong> plugin. It allows having all necessary tools right in your WordPress without switching to any other external programs. If you don\u2019t want or can\u2019t provide access to your admin panel to other editors you can use online<\/a> alternative of \u201cLoco Translate\u201d plugin.<\/p>\n

First of all you will need to install Loco Translate<\/strong> plugin. You can do that in two ways<\/p>\n

In one way you\u2019ll need to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. login to WordPress admin<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. go to Plugins \u25b8 Add new<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. after searching by this keyword \u201cLoco Translate<\/strong>\u201d install found plugin<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    or you can use another way for installing:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Go by this link<\/a> and download plugin<\/li>\n
    2. Go to Plugins \u25b8 Add new<\/em> and click \u201cUpload plugin<\/strong>\u201d button.\n<\/p>\n

    3. Then click the Browse<\/strong> button to select the zip file you would like to upload.<\/li>\n
    4. After installing plugin you will have to activate it, before you\u2019ll be able to use it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Translation steps:<\/h4>\n
        \n
      1. After installing and activating go to Loco Translate <\/strong> section and choose in list your target theme\/plugin and click on it.\n<\/p>\n

      2. In opened page click \u201cNew language\u201d\n<\/p>\n
        \"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/li>\n
      3. Select your language (for example \u201cFrench\u201d, code \u201cfr_FR\u201d) and click Start translating<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

        Note: To keep translations safe after future updates, always choose second location: languages\/loco\/themes\/infolio-fr_FR.po<\/strong> as shown in image below. All custom translations are stored in the wp-content\/languages\/loco\/<\/strong> directory so unless you reinstall the entire WordPress installation, all is safe in that folder. Without losing translations you can update the theme and any plugin. Even using the child theme is not mandatory.<\/p>\n

        Note: this translation will be loaded only if your site language in WordPress Admin \u25b8 Settings \u25b8 General \u25b8 Language<\/em> is the same.<\/p>\n

      4. Before starting the to translate texts please click on Sync button, to synchronize all the changes, that might appear from the last visit\n<\/p>\n

      5. Translate all phrases and click Save<\/strong> to generate all necessary translation files.\n<\/p>\n
